La Forge
A former blacksmith's workshop, La Forge was restored and modernised while retaining its original perigourdin character. Inside, oak beams and ochre stones steal the show giving La Forge its cosiness, which is also enhanced by the wooden stove that can be lit in the cooler season (central heating is also a feature).
On the ground floor, the open plan living area comprises the kitchen (equipped with an oven, four ring hob, dishwasher and all the necessary kitchenware), dining and sitting room, complete with antique furniture.
On the first floor, the pink double bedroom is separated from the quirky little French boudoir by a monumental beam and opens onto the terrace where you will enjoy memorable summer evening barbecues. A separate bathroom and toilet are facing each other in the small corridor leading to a second bedroom furnished with 3 single beds.
La Forge is part of the original buildings surrounding the courtyard; it offers views on the gardens, tennis court, and swimming pool.
Fabulous setting, wonderful accommodation, perfect bolt-hole to escape everyday life.
We booked domaine De Cournet-Haut on a friends recommendation but it completed surpassed all expectations. It truly is a 'picture postcard' holiday venue!
