Domaine de Cournet-Haut, set in the picturesque Dordogne Valley, is an 17th century lodge set on 13 acres of beautiful gardens, lush lawns and bright mature forest. The domain was charmingly restored into a self-catering home rental hamlet, consisting of 2 traditional stone cottages and 6 woodland cottages. Whether you wish to enjoy our pool and tennis court, or venture out on one of the bikes to explore this wonderful region, you will soon discover that there is an endless number of things to see and do during your stay. Passionate about their region and their domain, Fanny and Alan will offer you warm and caring attention, ensuring your break in Cournet-Haut remains one of your family's favourite.
The layout of Cournet-Haut - a small structure with few well spaced apart & totally independent houses on a large domain – gives us the hope that we will be able to start welcoming guests again from the 11th of May.
This possibility fills us with joy as we are impatient to see you again and to offer you a well-deserved peaceful, stress free break after this exceedingly difficult period.
We are therefore anticipating a reopening with all our positive energy while putting in place a strict protocol which will enable us to protect you and your family throughout your stay with us:
Reinforced disinfection of the houses after cleaning
Regular disinfection of common areas and of games/activities
Welcoming and check-in of guests within respect of social distancing obligations
Possibility of self-check-in for guests who prefer
Option of on-site, use of phone, email and social networks as preferred method of communication in order to minimise contacts
Covid-19 booking and cencellation terms
Following government recommendations, we would like to inform you that if your stay with us had to be cancelled due to the covid-19 pandemic, we will offer you a voucher corresponding to the amount of your deposit which you will be able to use for a future visit (in 2020 or 2021). We obviously hope to be able to welcome you at a later stage, once this crisis is over.
However, if you were unable to reschedule your stay with us at all, we will reimburse your deposit fully (minus the bank charges that may apply).
With accomodation for up to 39 people, a large function room with adjoining kitchen and all the facilities that Cournet Haut has to offer, it is the perfect location for your next group get-away. We offer organised weekends for a range of activities from yoga and singing to Trail running and mountain biking.
"After years of looking for the right child-friendly, self-catering accommodation in France, we finally found it in Domaine de Cornet Haut. Cornet Haut is run by French born Fanny and Irish born Alan and they are lovely, warm and very welcoming hosts. Our 9yo daughter immediately made friends with the children of Fanny and Alan (and of other guests) and spent many happy hours playing and exploring. Happy kids, happy parents, as they say. The accommodation was exactly what we were seeking. We stayed in La Forge, a tastefully renovated stone cottage forming part of the main building complex, with downstairs kitchen / living room and 2 upstairs bedrooms. The bathroom was modern and immaculate. The rooms stayed cool even on very hot (mid 30C) days. The grounds contain everything a child (or child at heart) could want – a well-maintained swimming pool, tennis court, trampoline, swings, table tennis space, and extensive grassy areas for just running around. Located one mile outside the small village of St Pompon, Cornet Haut forms the perfect base for exploring the beautiful Dordogne and Lot regions. Most of the "name" sights are within a short drive – Domme, Beynac et Cazenac, Castelnaud, La Roque Gageac, Montfort, Sarlat, Vézère valley (prehistoric caves), Cadouin, Belvès, Monpazier, Bonaguil, Gourdon – and about an hour to Rocamadour and Gouffre de Padirac. Fanny and Alan went out of their way to make us feel at home and clearly take pride in the quality of the presentation of Cornet Haut. So how good was it? We've already booked for next year."
